In today's economy, families are searching for any way possible to live more efficiently and "downsize" with comfort. In the past few months, we have noticed an increased desire from our customers to design "In Law" spaces in their homes to accommodate a future parent either full or part-time. In general, our customers have sought something more than just a spacious guest room with en suite bath. They have wanted living space and in some cases a small kitchenette. At Dostie Homes, we have begun to ask ourselves if this is a trend purely symptomatic of our current market or if people are moving toward this living arrangement.
We are curious to know from you the public if you have considered this approach and would be interested in a builder who was pre-planning for these types of rooms. What would be important to you or your parent in this space? How big does it need to be? Would you want it attached to your home or detached with a breezeway connecting back to the main house?
Please respond to this post!! Your feedback is critical to Dostie building the very best homes in the market today and in the future. Thank you for your time and thoughts.
